Meeting New People & Partying in the Quad?

Jonathan in the quad
As the second day began I really felt like I was getting into the swing of things. Even though it was only our 3rd day here I felt like I knew a lot of people already and had been to almost every place on campus. I went to breakfast with the DNA group at 8 AM and instead of working out right after like I originally planned I decided to go back to the dorms to finish up some homework for class. I was entering my room when Jonathan, a rising senior from New Jersey who's room is right across the hall from mine, was leaving his and asked if I wanted to do homework outside on the lawn or something. I, of course, said yes and we headed off towards the main green.
Caleb, Chrissi (middle), and Sakura
On our way there we saw Sakura & Chrissi, two girls that we had met last night who were also rising seniors, both from New Jersey as well. I may have been the outlier but it really didn't feel like it as we all headed off to the main green together. We decided to work inside at first and after about 20 minutes we moved back outside as it was such a nice day. We soon finished our work though and as more and more people arrived from our cluster we decided that a good game of frisbee was in order. We played with a lot of people from our cluster and some new guys that we just met for about an hour before we decided that we needed to drop some stuff of at our dorms and go and get some lunch. I kinda wanted to just go to the dining hall but most people were rooting for Johnny Rocket's so we made the slow trek up Thayer St. towards the classic diner.

We only had about 45 minutes till our 12:45 classes started so we ordered almost immediately with most people just getting some cheese fries or onion rings. That didn't really do it for me so I got the Chicken Club and ate a bit faster than most people, trying to make it so that we would have enough time to pay and leave by 12:35. I didn't really make much of a difference but by 12:25 we were out the door and on our way to class. Sakura and I have class in the same building so we walked together and at 12:45 class started.

I sat in the front today but there really wasn't much difference between the first and second rows. We learned about Supply & Demand as well as Price Controls & Quotas. The relationships between Supply & Demand as well as Price Vs. Quantity were very interesting and understanding how these relationships take place in everyday society was also very cool. Price Controls & Quotas were something that I had never really considered before but they seem like a very big double-edged sword. They helps in certain times of crises but for the rest of the time it seems like they almost work against the producers and consumers. Either way I think we're going to expand on that next class and maybe go over more situations. So far so good though, and I couldn't love it more.

Arnold repping the west coast
After class I relaxed for awhile with Arnold and some other kids in the quad until they said that they wanted to get dinner. I went with them to Chipotle but didn't get anything as I had already eaten out once that day I didn't think that it would be good to do it twice in one day. Instead I headed to the Rattie (Sharpe Refactory) with the other kids who didn't eat at Chipotle and we ate there. It was almost like a Thanksgiving dinner as they had Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Squash, and Green Beans. I decided to go with a combination of all of them and after finishing dinner decided that now would be a good time to workout. The gym closes at 8 so I left dinner around 6:50 and got to the Nelson Fitness Center around 7, just in time to get in a good hour workout.

After working out I met my cluster on Thayer St. and we headed back to the main green to hang out for awhile. There wasn't really a whole lot to do and I needed to take a shower anyways so I headed back to the dorms to do that. I showered, changed, and then met with the group back at the main green just as they were heading back to the dorm quad. Caleb, Jonathan, and I didn't really wanna just sit around and talk though so we headed up to the Campus Center and we threw the frisbee around a little bit while discuss a wide variety of topics that ranged from classes to health and back to classes again. We soon walked back though as it was approaching curfew and we only spoke for a few more minutes once arriving back at the dorms until we headed for our own rooms. My roommate has been asleep for awhile now and I envy him so I think I'm gonna make like Utku and pass out. Jusqu'a a la prochaine fois!
